Secretary/Treasurer

David_Candy_Wigington_190.jpgWelcome to the website of the Indiana District of the Assemblies of God.  My name is David Wigington, and I serve as the Secretary-Treasurer for this great district.

I grew up in West Terre Haute, Indiana, and married my sweetheart Candy, in 1970.  Candy and I met while I was traveling as an evangelist holding meetings and services throughout the Midwest.  We have been blessed with two children and five grandchildren.  Our daughter, Amanda, is a graduate of Southeastern College.  She and our son-in-law, Erik, serve as Music Pastors at Lakeview Christian Center in Indianapolis.  You can learn more about their ministry at www.lakeviewworship.com.  Our son, David, is also a graduate of Southeastern College and did graduate work at Southern Seminary.  He and our daughter-in-law, Shana, are the pioneer pastors of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Bloomington.  You can learn more about their ministry at www.agccf.com.  Our grandchildren: Nathan, Emma, Adam, Anna, and Austin; are our constant joys.

I have been in ministry almost all my life.  I preached my first sermon at age 12 after having sensed a call to ministry at a very early age.  At age 16, I was involved in a traumatic accident in which I lost my right arm and by all accounts, should have died.  The Lord spared my life and blessed me with a testimony of His power, grace and mercy (click here to learn more about my personal testimony).  I attended Central Bible College while traveling as an evangelist.  After Bible College, I served as pastor of three different Indiana churches and as associate pastor of another.  I left the pastorate in 1978 having been elected as Youth Director for the Indiana District, a position in which I was privileged to serve for almost ten years.  From 1988-1994, I served as Church Ministries Director for the District until I was elected to my current post in June of 1994.

As the District Secretary, it is my responsibility to provide official minutes of the governing boards and to maintain the official membership list of all credentialed ministers and Assemblies of God Churches in this District.

As the District Treasurer, it is my responsibility to coordinate the annual audit, to provide accurate financial reports to the governing boards and various District departments, and to give oversights to the day-to-day financial operations of the District.

In addition to these responsibilities, I am responsible for overseeing the District Stewardship department, the Ministers Benevolent Fund, and The Envoy (District Periodical).  Below you will find links to all of the areas of the Indiana District's ministry which fall under my direction.

  • Annual Church Ministries Report (ACMR)
